New Musical Director for Brass Sounds Inverclyde

Updated: Mar 20, 2022

Joshua Parkhill has been appointed Musical Director of Brass Sounds Inverclyde.

Joshua began his music training as a young child through the Salvation Army in Ayr where he learned to play a brass instrument. He is currently a third-year trombone student at the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland and is taught by Simon Johnson and Davur Juul Magnussen.

Joshua is passionate about musical outreach and is excited to take the band and its music out into the local community to allow people to experience brass band music through concerts and gala days. He also looks forward to working with the band and helping them improve their general musicianship as they look forward to returning to contesting in 2022.

While currently, his studies and musical endeavours including performing in pits for musical theatre, trombone quartet and orchestral playing take up a lot of his time, he also enjoys going hill walking and swimming, as well as playing games with friends and watching movies to relax.

The band are really looking forward to working with Joshua over this next period!
