Past Contests

2004

On the 6th of November 2004, The band took part in it's very first contest - The Whitburn Invitational. The band were drawn No. 8 and played an Entertainment program under the direction of their conductor and founder Alistair McCorkell. They placed 16th.

2005

  • On the 12th March the band competed in the Scottish Brass Band Championships in the Fourth Section playing the set testpiece - Divertimento. The band were again conducted by Alistair McCorkell and placed 6th.

  • 23rd of April - Fife Brass Band Festival (Fourth Section) - Entertainment Program - placed 4th.

  • 27th of August -  Land o' Burns - Entertainment Contest - placed 15th. 

  • 29th of October - Fife Charities Band Association Contest - March, Hymn Tune and Test Piece - placed 10th.

2006

  • 10th of March - Scottish Championship - The Fourth Section test piece was The Seasons - Placed 5th.

  • 21st of Apr - Fife Brass Band Festival (Fourth Section) - Entertainment Program - Placed 3rd.

  • 3rd of Nov - Borders Entertainment Contest - Entertainment Program - Placed 10th.

2008

  • 8th of March - Scottish Brass Band Championships - Fourth Section Test Piece was Four Cities Symphony - Placed 5th.

  • 19th of April - Fife Brass Band Festival (Fourth Section) - Entertainment Program - Placed 1st.

  • 24th August - Land o' Burns - Entertainment Program - Placed 15th.

  • 4th of October - Fife Charities Band Association Contest - March, Hymn Tune and Anglian Dances - Placed 12th - Under the baton of new Conductor Gareth Bowman.

  • 1st of November - Borders Entertainment Contest - Placed 10th.

  • 29th of November - Scottish Challenge Cup - Own Choice Testpiece - Placed 4th.

2009

  • 21st of March - Scottish Brass Band Championships - The Fourth Section testpiece was The Talisman - and under the baton of the new conductor they came 2nd.

  • 25th of April - Fife Brass Band Festival (Fourth Section) - Entertainment Program - Placed 1st.

  • 30th of August - Land o' Burns - Placed 12th.

  • 26th of September - National Championships of Great Britain - Fourth Section Final Testpiece was Alta Vista - Placed 14th.

  • 3rd of October - Fife Charities Band Association Contest - Star Lake, Ellacombe and Alta Vista - Placed 11th.

  • 28th of November - Scottish Challenge Cup - Dimensions - Placed 4th.

2010

  • 13th of March - Scottish Championships - The Third Section Testpiece was Labour and Love - Placed 8th.

  • 24th of April - Fife Brass Band Festival (Third Section) - Entertainment Program - Placed 2nd.

  • 28th of August - Land o' Burns - Placed 15th.

  • 2nd of October - Fife Charities Band Association Contest - March, Hymn Tune and Variations on Laudate Dominum - Under the Baton of new conductor Lynda Nicholson the band placed 11th. 

2011

  • 26th of February - Scottish Championship - The Third Section Testpiece was A Little Light Music - Placed 1st.

  • 16th of April - Fife Brass Band Festival (Third Section) - Entertainment Program - Placed 1st.

  • 25th of September - National Championship of Great Britain in Cheltenham - Third Section Testpiece was Darkness Visible - Placed 5th

2012

  • 10th of March - Scottish Championship -  The Second Section Testpiece was Cross Patonce - Placed 12th under the baton of John Boax.

2013

  • 9th of March - Scottish Championship - The Third Section Testpiece was Hollywood! - Placed 5th under the baton of new conductor David Hutcheson.

  • 20th of April - Fife Brass Band Festival (Third Section) - Entertainment Program - Placed 5th.

  • 26th of May - Northern Counties Open Contest - Entertainment Program - Placed 7th.

2014

  • 19th of April - Fife Brass Band Festival (Third Section) - Entertainment Program - Placed 4th under the baton of Mark Good.  ​

2015

  • 14th of March - Scottish Championship - Fourth Section Testpiece was An English Pastorale - Placed 7th under the baton of new conductor Chris Mansfield.

  • 25th of April - Fife Brass Band Festival (Fourth Section) - Entertainment Program - Placed 3rd.​

2016

  • 13th of March - Scottish Championship - The Fourth Section Testpiece was The Journal of Phileas Fogg - Placed 1st.

  • 23rd of April - Fife Brass Band Festival (Fourth Section) - Entertainment Program - Placed 6th.

  • 17th of September - National Championship of Great Britain - The Fourth Section Testpiece was Music from Kantara - Placed 14th.

  • 24th of September - Fife Charities Band Association Contest - March, Hymn Tune and Music from Kantara - Placed 10th.

  • 19th of November - Band Supplies Scottish Challenge - The Journal of Phileas Fogg - Placed 20th.

2017

  • 22nd of April - Fife Brass Band Festival (Third Section) - Entertainment Program - Placed 4th.

2018

  • 29th of September - Fife Charities Band Association Contest - Viva Birkinshaw, Sandon, Variations on Laudate Dominum - Placed 13th.

2019

  • 9th of March - Scottish Championship - The Third Section Testpiece was First Suite in Eb - Placed 10th under the baton of new conductor Robert Dibden.

  • 31st of August - West of Scotland Band Association Open - Entertainment Program - Placed 11th.

  • 30th of November - Band Supplies Scottish Challenge - Dimensions - Placed 19th under the baton of new conductor Wendy McCorkell.

2020

  • 8th of March - Scottish Championship - The Fourth Section Testpiece was Neverland - Placed 7th under the baton of Wendy McCorkell - This was her first time conducting us at the Scottish. This was also the last time we all saw each other in 2020 as little did we know, we'd end up in a pandemic which resulted in a world wide lockdown coming into play.
